Specialists One Day Surgery Center

Welcome

Welcome to Specialists One Day Surgery Center. We are pleased and proud to offer the latest in orthopedic technique by our board certified surgeons, using modern, state-of-the-art equipment.

Our newly built one-day surgery center was designed and built specifically to serve orthopedic patients that do not require an overnight stay in the hospital, even though highly technical procedures and equipment are required.

Our single-speciality staff have been trained to provide these services in an efficient and friendly manner. We will try to make the experience for you and your family as hassle-free and as pleasant as we can.

Specialists One Day Surgery is proud to be accredited by the American Association of Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. We are licensed by the Department of Health of the State of New York, and certified by Medicare.

Before Your Surgery

Your surgeon will arrange your surgery time and date. The anesthesia department will be in contact with you by phone to review your health status. Sometimes an appointment in person with the anesthesia department or your primary care physician is necessary to perform a medical examination. We will notify you well in advance if any lab work, EKG, or doctor's appointments are needed.
In general, the following instructions will be necessary:
- Nothing to eat or drink during the 8 hours before surgery.
- Stop taking mega-dose vitamins or herbal medications/supplements 10 days before surgery.
- Take all of your prescribed medications on the morning of surgery with a small sip of water as directed by the anesthesiologist.
- This is a great time to quit smoking (recovery and healing will be improved)

The Day of Surgery

Leave all of your valuables at home including jewelry.
Bring your insurance ID cards with you, both primary and secondary.
Bring a copy of any healthcare proxies, or advanced directives with you.
Parking at the surgery center is free. You can be dropped off at the front door (under the cover) if you wish.
