Joe,
To let you know how much I care, I\'m pulling for the Red Sox (as much as a Yankee fan can), so as to make you happy! I\'ll have to re-visit this wish when we get to the playoffs. Glad to hear of good progress. Hope to see you soon.

Dr. Smith,
I just have to say - things are not the same without you! But we talk about you all the time (mostly good stuff)thus invoking your tell-it-like-it-is, let's-do-it attitude we love so much. Let me know when you are ready for that salami sandwich because there is a new deli in town (up by OCC) and I would love to deliver one on-the-spot.

As for the singing, well, it does keep the lungs clear despite what it may do for noise pollution. I have been known to belt out "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" - if you can possibly imagine that - despite objections from my kids. Too bad they don't appreciate the spirit behind the voice!

Keep up the good work - I have been dedicating my 5 am morning workouts at BCC to you. Pollock, French, McDermott, and the boys say hi.
Love and God's blessings (and those of St. John Baptist de La Salle too!),

Joe - You are now making good slow but steady progress. Keep up the good work. I am glad to hear that you have not had any emergency visits to the hospital recently. That is also good news. We had some Syracuse weather here on Sunday with cold, cold weather and 3-7 inches of snow, depending where one lives in the state. Not exactly good golf weather. It\'s enough to make Hogan cry! Thinking of you and you are in our prayers.

Hi Carol, Joe and kids,
I am Susan Bezas, formerly Susan Dauenhauer, your old babysitter. I heard about the accident that caused Dr.Smith's injury and wanted to send my prayers and wishes to him and you as you deal with this immensely challenging struggle toward recovery, for both him and all of you. I can only immagine what you have all been through. I remember him and all of you in such a positive light. You were very much a part of my teen years and continue to be in my thoughts now.

I am adding to your strength with my prayers and positive thoughts.

Fondly,
Susan
