Hi Joe

Jean and I are pleased to learn of your on-going recovery. It is no big surprise for us however, given your drive and determination. We wish you continued success and a happy and blessed Easter. You are in our prayers and those of the Rosary parish.

The baseball season has begun and it makes me think of Joe even more than usual. Despite a slow Red Sox start, I know that Joe will get much pleasure from watching them as the season progresses. And Carol, Martha and I think about you both every day and admire you both for your courage and determination. Hang in there and know that there are hundreds of people out there who care. Ride the wave.

Think of all of you often... Last enter was a big relief for us. We've had our challenges here in California. (Mental Illness is also a bitch.) But the weather is always beautiful and I'm happy to be outside so much. Wine cost less than water :) Looking forward to your visit.

I'll be sending you some California peppers and tomatoes from your recipe soon.

Love always

Joe and Carol,

After neither seeing an update nor hearing anything for awhile, we're very happy to see there's progress being made. There REALLY ARE many, many people praying and pulling for your family. It's not just something people are SAYING, it's something they're actually DOING. Let us know if we can do more.

Hey! I am really pleased to see that you are having more "ups" than "downs" these days!! Now that spring has arrived, I hope Joe can get out on the deck and enjoy the view of that beautiful lake. I wouldn't be surprised if he figures out a way of making that boat accessible to his wheelchair !!

We think of you both often.........Love, Donna and Evan

Joe:

I had heard what happened from John Fatti. I appreciate the efforts of the person(s) that is keeping up the blog on your progress. I read it for the first time today. I am glad that you are making forward progress and wish you the best as you continue to recover. I will never forget the time that I did my first case with you in 1987. It was a ganglion removal from a teenager's wrist. I had really never wrapped an Esmarch bandage on an arm before. You let me start the case and each time I wrapped the elastic I twisted it so once we got up to the elbow it was a mess. You just looked at me and said "What the f--k are you doing?" I just unwrapped it and did it correctly. Who would have known that I was going to become a hand surgeon.

Wishing you well.
