Medical Assistant- MA

We are seeking a full time medical assistant working Monday through Friday. Qualified candidates will possess excellent communication and customer service skills, High School diploma, medical terminology and strong computer skills. Medical Assistant education and a least one year of experience working in public contact job, preferably medical setting. Must be courteous, efficient and able to multi-task in a fast pace medical office setting.

Pay Range: $16.00 to $18.00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include: checking schedules and organizing patient flow; accompanying patients to exam/procedure room; assisting patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, preparing for exam, etc; collecting patient history; performing screenings per provider guidelines; assisting physicians/nurses with various procedures; and charting. Reports any unusual findings to the RN for further evaluation.
  • Clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include: obtaining lab/x-ray reports, office and hospital notes, as required. Assists in preparing patients for surgery to include surgical packets, consents and medical clearances.
  • Environmental responsibilities as assigned which may include: setting up instruments and equipment according to practice protocol; cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control, including spore test on sterilizer; ordering, sorting and storing supplies; and restocking exam/procedure rooms.
  •  Organizational policies as assigned which may include: respecting/promoting patient rights; responding appropriately to emergency codes; sharing problems relating to patient and/or staff with immediate supervisors quickly.
  • Provide coverage at other locations, as needed, which includes traveling.
