Work Week: Full Time - Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
This position will be working out of our Spine Center at 5719 Widewaters Parkway.
Job Responsibilities:
- Answers a variety of telephone calls within the Spine Scheduling Department in a pleasant, helpful manner, assisting and directing callers appropriately.
- Communicates well in written or verbal format, asking appropriate questions of new patients and schedules with appropriate spine provider following the most updated spine scheduling and triage guidelines.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of our insurance or self-pay policies and properly informs patients of any referral requirements when scheduling appointments. Conducts eligibility checks through Phreesia upon scheduling to ensure proper insurance info is collected and attached to the appointment and directs patients on Phreesia check in or disability forms completion process.
- Utilizes triage as necessary to meet patient care needs, following protocols set forth for urgent and routine matters. Sends complete task messages according to protocol ensuring accuracy and completion of information entered.
- Promptly responds to any scheduling or rescheduling needs of our Spine Physicians or spine mid levels as notified by supervisor or provider. Potential to be a primary clerical support for a spine provider.
- Experience with computers, having a good understanding of how electronic medical records work. Thorough knowledge of Veradigm/Alterra (Allscripts) system; how it is utilized when dealing with registrations, appointment scheduling, referrals, etc. is a plus.
- Has the ability to manage call volume on a busy day with a calm disposition, servicing each caller exhibiting our core fundamentals with every encounter.
- Works well with others and can multi-task when needed throughout workday. Types well, and organizes and prioritizes duties effectively.
