Hockey Concussion Seminar

SOS Interdisciplinary Seminar Series allows the various disciplines within the Sports Medicine Team to come together and exchange knowledge, research, new techniques, and ideas to help improve performance and patient outcomes. 

Topic: Concussions in Hockey

Presenter: Tiffany Weiskotten, MS, ATC, NASM-PES

Tiffany is a Certified Athletic Trainer. She received her BS in Athletic Training from SUNY Brockport and her MS in Health and Human Performance from Canisius College. 

This event is a part of a 2-lecture series on hockey.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify special considerations for the diagnosis and treatment of concussion in hockey.
  • Identify the differences between various helmet options.
  • Implement appropriate strategies for performing evaluation in skates.

Requests received up to 72 hours prior to the start of the event will be given a full refund. In the event of an emergency, health or travel-related reason for needing to cancel after the 72 hour deadline, a written request for refund must be received within 24 hours of the conclusion of the event. Special circumstantial cancellations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and up to a 75% refund may be issued.**
