The Thrower's Elbow: Diagnosis, Management, and Special Considerations

Dr. Fitzgerald is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand, wrist, and elbow care. He earned his medical degree with high honors at SUNY Upstate Medical University, and completed an orthopedic residency at the University of Vermont. Dr. Fitzgerald also completed an upper extremity fellowship at the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center. He is trained in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the upper extremity including trauma, arthritis, tendinopathies, soft tissue disorders, nerve compression disorders and ligamentous injuries. He is skilled in the treatment of all disorders from shoulder to fingertip in adult and pediatric cases.
Learning Objectives:
- Select appropriate special tests to assess elbow injuries.
- Identify risk factors for injury and implement appropriate preventive interventions.
- Identify red flags for referral
This program is targeted towards Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Athletic Trainers will be eligible for 1 Category A CEU. Physicians, PAs, and NPs will be eligible for 1 AMA PRA Category 1 CME. Physical Therapists may be eligible for 1.2 CEUs.

There has been no commercial support for this activity. Registrants wishing to receive reimbursement for events that charge a fee must do so in writing (email responses are acceptable). Requests received up to 72 hours prior to the start of the event will be given a full refund. In the event of an emergency, health or travel-related reason for needing to cancel after the 72 hour deadline, a written request for refund must be received within 24 hours of the conclusion of the event. Special circumstantial cancellations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and up to a 75% refund may be issued.**
