Dr Zogby literally saved my life. I owe him so much. He was such a great guy with a wonderful sense of humor who loved also being a farmer. He laughed when I asked him who was going to do my surgery as I saw how large his fingers were and I didn't think he'd be able to handle the instruments! He told me not to worry, he'd done this surgery many times. I had such confidence in him and his reputation. I will miss him dearly. God Speed. He's with his mom now. We are all blessed in our lives for having known him.

So sorry to hear of his passing, but I know he had been struggling for a few years. He treated me when I had some nerve damage in my shoulder a few years back (year or two before he got sick) and I remember how nice he was, showed that he genuinely cared, spent meaningful time with me during my office visits, and on a couple of instances spent time with me on the phone – saving me the time and expense of an office visit. I can understand and appreciate what others have written – and I am sure he will be missed by his family, friends, colleagues and patients.

Dr. Zogby was my orthopedic Dr. since 1989... I was Blessed that he was the doctor on call when I entered the emergency room. He was the most caring Dr. I have known... He never made me feel like a "number", but as someone he cared about. I have followed him whenever he moved to a different office. He was compassionate toward his patients and took time with them. He always had a smile when I asked about his children... I know he will be truly missed. My heart is heavy... my deepest sympathy for his family, but his struggle is now over. Peace Dr. Z.

I met Dr. Zogby during his undergraduate days when he was selected for a summer job from among nearly 200 applicants because the position required intelligence, humor, initiative, and the ability to make an immediate positive impression on a large number of total strangers. Obviously --- among others --- these traits continued to serve him well throughout his life. I had not seen him in many years, but am sincerely saddened to read of his passing. My deepest sympathies to his family.

dr. Zogby treated me as a brother,we grew very close thru the years. I have been a patient since 1992, he has put my life back together, first my neck then thru the years all of my back, I icould never walk until he made these fantastic operations and now I can walk and even play a few holes of golf, two years ago I came down with a type of leukemia, I told him but he never said a word about himself, one day I was going to get one of my many transfusions and there he and his wife were getting blood also, my heart was broken to think god would take someone as valuable and wonderful as he was. I gave him a stone lithograph as a gift for what he had done for me, that is far short of what he did for me, I can only pray for him and his family, god certainly has an angel now to look over us, I know I will always talk to him, and he will be in my prayers thanks doc for all you have done to let me have a life, god bless your family you will all be in my prayers

He had the best bedside manner, he was compassionate, caring and so very understanding. He was a brilliant physician that went to great lengths to make you comfortable and pain free. He will be missed. I had one appointment with him where I was upset because I had just lost my sister to ovarian cancer he was very nice to me and I actually walked out feeling better that day, he had that effect on you. He gave me hope that everything would be ok.

I am deeply saddened and broken-hearted upon learning of Dr. Zogby's passing today. He was an outstanding doctor and will be sorely missed. I first had the pleasure of meeting him while treating our daughter and then, eventually myself. I found him to be a doctor who truly cared about his patients and always put the well-being of his patients first before his own. My prayers and deepest sympathy go out to his family and hope they can take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering. REST IN PEACE DR. ZOGBY AND GOD BLESS YOU. I only wish there were more doctors like you.

I was shocked to hear of Dr. Zogby’s death. I have never been so saddened about the death of a professional acquaintance as when I opened the letter from SOS telling of his
passing. He seemed more like a friend and always greeted with a friendly smile when visiting SOS. My deepest sympathy to all of Dr. Zogby’s family, friends, and coworkers.

Dr. Zogby and his unusual, but special care for me as one of his patients was an experience I will never forget. I had just moved here from Ohio and knew no one nor had any family hear. I had to have back surgery. Dr. Zogby was especially attentive to seeing that I had the needed assistance both in the hospital and my return home. I had never met a Doctor who made me feel that they really cared and was as concerned as he was. I will always praise him with good things to say. He was a real kind, caring doctor. A great surgeon. The Best.

I never really knew the man but I was fortunate enough that he was the on call surgeon the night I was brought into Community with my leg all busted up. A metal Plate, 11 screws and pins and his talent, I'm happy to say today I hardly notice it anymore.

I did get to meet him and thank him a couple times at SOS in Dewitt when I was there for my follow up visits. Dr Zogby was always smiling and attentive.

My thoughts and prayers to his family, friends and his colleagues. I'm sure he will be deeply missed.

It saddens me that a great doctor is gone and will not be helping any new patients. His bedside mannor was the best and he was very honest. You don't find that any more. He helped me a great deal. I will surely miss him. May he rest in peace.

I am thankful to have been treated by him and developed a relationship of comfort that I will me er forget as I continue on my journey of healing. I am blessed to have had the chance for a final visit with Dr. Zogby the fall of 2011. His words of encouragement and advice will never leave me. He will truly be missed.

From the moment I met Dr. Zogby I liked him, even though he was clear i needed surgery, which terrified me. He put me at ease medically and made me smile personally, especially when we talked about our children and the Adirondacks. May his memory be a blessing to his family, colleagues and friends.

My deepest sympathies to Dr. Zogby's family and friends. Dr. Zogby performed a successful fusion on my back in May, 2009, after I suffered in pain for 7 years. Today I have a 50% improvement in my pain, far above the threshold I expected. He was the most caring surgeon/Doctor. He spoke to me clearly and convinced me not to be afraid of surgery. He was a wonderful doctor, I will sorely miss him. Sincerely, Kathlee Carroll

My family's genuine, literal prayers are with Dr. Zogby's Family & co-workers at this time of grief. He had treated my spinal injury since 1995 & from the get go was courageous, courteous, kind to me & tenacious with my insurance company, with who he had to fight often to continue treatment. May Jesus Christ, the Lord of all comfort (Matthew 5:4) be with Dr Zogby's family & the SOS family at this time.

I had a back fusion with Dr. Zogby in 1992, the 12th such procedure he had done. His gentle, confident personality, along with a top recommendation, suggested I proceed even though his experience was limited. Without question, it was the right choice. Since then I had two more surgeries with him, and can only say, of the 11 surgeons I have had for numerous operations of all kinds, he clearly was at the top from a medical standpoint, but stood head and shoulders above them all as a marvelous, caring human being - such a rare trait in the world of surgery. My thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends and colleagues. I shall always remember him as the kind, caring, and ever patient physician who always waited for his patient to be done before moving on! I miss you Richard Zogby.

My husband and I are in extreme shock and remorse over the passing of Dr. Zogby. Dr. Zogby was my surgeon when I broke my ankle in 2 places, dislocted it and tore a ligament 2 years ago. My prognosis at first was not total recovery. However, with Dr. Zogby's knowledge, persistence and sincere caring attitude, my ankle is practically 100% healed after my surgery. My daughter, a nurse, investigated Dr. Zogby and the hospital and he and it were categorized as the best in New York State for orthopedic surgery. I am living proof of that fact. We are so very sorry to hear of his passing and our heartfelt prayers go up for his family and friends. What a wonderful heritage he left you all. He brilliantly helped so very many people. What a dear man. We are sure there is a special place in Heaven for him.

I am very sorry to hear about Dr. Zogby's passing. I was a patient of his for 15 years. He operated on me 3 times. I owe the quality of life I have now to his knowledge and skills. I will always remember just before surgery I would see him opening up a tiny brown wooden box . I will miss my office visits with him, my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

I was so very sad to learn of Richard's passing. He was an incredible doctor, and was an amazing techer/ mentor to me while I was an athletic trainer at SU - where he worked with some of our athletes, and then helped me develop0 ongoing training modules for our graduate assistant trainers. Throughout the years, Dr. Zogby was the specialist I turned to for recommendationas - and most importantly to refer my clients to. With every person he touched, he earned their trust, their respect, and their gratitude - he always listened, always took the time to make each persons questions and fears be heard... and he provided solutions to people that went beyond the knife. I am sure that you are all aware of what and amazing person he was - and I for one, am forever greatful for the experience I had with him throughout my career. He has left an undeniable mark on so many - and will continue to oluve on through all of those who he trained.

Dr.Zogby was my back surgeon. An outstanding individual all the way around. A year after my surgery I was in the hospital for an unrelated stomach ailment and he stopped in to see how I was doing. My sincere condolences to his wife and children. Miss him.

I first met Dr Zogby when i had a spinal fusion and he was the young new guy under Dr Walter Gilsdorf. It was always a treat to have him when he was covering for Dr G. Later, after he had left to move on to a different practice I was sent to him by an attorney for examination. His professionalism, fairness, honesty and integrity shined through. Later after Dr G. retired it was a perfect fit to have Dr Zogby take over as MY back guy. He was just such a special person to have and I always thought it as a blessing. As I read over the way he touched so many others I cannot say its a surprise. I will always remember him and am honored to continue being treated by someone that he mentored (Kristin Parmeter).
