Payment Navigation Program Now Available for SOS Patients

As more people face high out-of-pocket costs, they are looking to manage their own healthcare spending. SOS is now pleased to offer a new Payment Navigation program to increase price transparency for our patients. SOS is working directly with our patient’s insurance provider to give estimates of their bills before they have a test or procedure with us. Learn more about the program below.

If you are a SOS patient and have questions about Payment Navigation, please call our Billing Department at (315) 251-3140.

WHAT IS THE PAYMENT NAVIGATOR?

SOS cares about helping you navigate through the sometimes complex and confusing world of health care insurance, medical bills, pre-authorization and deductibles. In order to help you understand the financial aspects of your care, we have implemented the Payment Navigator. This is a program that will allow SOS to work directly with your insurance provider to give you an estimate of your bill before you have a test or procedure with us.

WILL THIS IMPACT YOU?

This program is for patients who are covered by one insurance. However, it does not apply to patients whose one insurance is straight Medicare or straight Medicaid. This also does not apply for any patients covered under workers compensation or a no fault carrier.

HOW WILL SOS USE THE PAYMENT NAVIGATOR TO HELP YOU?

If you are having a scheduled procedure with SOS, and are covered by one insurance (outlined above), we will use the Payment Navigator to review your insurance coverage and determine an estimate of your overall financial responsibility.

Prior to your procedure, you will have transparency in understanding what the estimate cost of your out of pocket expense will be. We will advise you of your out of pocket estimate and ask for payment prior to your procedure.

WHAT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY?

Co-pays, Co-insurance and deductibles and any amount not covered by your insurance plan. Please be sure to review your individual insurance benefits. Eligibility and benefit questions should be addressed directly with your insurance carrier. SOS accepts debit card, credit card, check, cash or money order.

Please provide us with your most current insurance information as we will need this in order to process an accurate estimate.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF I CAN’T PAY AT THE TIME OF SERVICE?

Our financial assistance patient representatives will guide you through the options that we have to help you.

WHO CAN I CONTACT IF I HAVE MORE QUESTIONS?

The SOS Billing Department will assist you with any questions you may have. Please contact us at 315-251-3140.
